Job Description:

The Clinical Report Developer is responsible for the development and maintenance of clinical reports and ad-hoc custom clinical applications for the entire Cancer Treatment Centers of America Enterprise. The candidate will work with end users/consumers of patient and organizational clinical reporting data to create or update reports generated from multiple reporting platforms and from the clinical electronic medical record (EMR) application.

The ideal candidate is proficient in SQL including creating tables, views and stored procedures that would be used in the reporting process. Competent in reporting IT disciplines, including professional experience in SQL Reporting Services, Report Builder, Microsoft Power BI development and an ability to manage both technical and business facets of complex reporting projects. Qualified applicants will be comfortable working directly with CTCA Stakeholders (employees), translating their needs into business reporting output, including KPI’s, Power BI Reports and Dashboards. The perfect candidate will come with experience in Allscripts Sunrise Clinical Manager and the Allscripts Clinical Performance Manager reporting analytics solution. The perfect candidate also possesses some basic programming skills using MS Visual Studio with experience in Microsoft platforms and other web development platforms. The perfect candidate will understand the power of data in a multi-location, multi-state business. Candidate needs to be self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working individually and in cross-functional teams.

Job Accountabilities

35%| Demonstrate advanced knowledge of SQL including creating database views, tables and stored procedures for reporting development and maintenance using SQL SSRS reporting design, structure, and application tools. Demonstrate knowledge of clinical EMR application report configuration and deployment.

25%| Interpret, gather, and evaluate data to develop integrated clinical and business analyses for incorporation into strategic decision-making and reporting products. Interact with stakeholders to provide and process innovative reporting solutions and gather requirements. Create and update documentation of business processes and procedures for reporting specifications.

15%| Manage and respond to end-user reported incidents and new service requests in the CRM application, identify and escalate priority issues and maintain SLA metrics.  Manage outsourced reporting projects to the Global Services team.

15%| Practice strong communication and presentation skills with attention to details. Interact with stakeholders to provide innovative reporting solutions and gather requirements.

10%| Willing to learn new software programs, learn common medical terminology and stay current with EHR system information, changes, and updates.

Education/Experience Level

  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in related functional and technical experience with required technologies and applications.
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year College, University or Technical Institute with major course work in Information Systems/Technology, or commensurate experience related to the position. 
  • BS/BA in healthcare/business administration, statistics/mathematics, information management, nursing, psych, research/public health, medical records or a related health field preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Must have advanced SQL experience including creating database views, tables, functions and stored procedures.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Report Builder report writing with SQL Reporting Services management (SSRS) and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, (advanced Excel skills required).
  • Excellent understanding of server technology, active directory, and operating systems.
  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-clinical and clinical stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of clinical data abstraction concepts; knowledge of the EHR and clinical terminology.
  • Comfortable working on multiple projects concurrently, including mining and interpreting data from multiple sources in various ways within set time constraints/deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service focus with the ability to understand end users’ data requests and translate the business requirements into appropriate data reports/findings.  Comfort working with clinicians including physicians.  Team oriented.
  • Self-motivated, able to carry out assignments to completion and possess a high degree of ownership, responsibility, initiative and attention to details.
  • Experience with Visual Studio application development and programming in a computer language VB.net, C#, HTML, Java or other language a plus.
  • Certifications in SQL or Microsoft Office 365 a plus.
  • Experience with Allscripts Sunrise Clinical Manager a plus.
  • Experience with Allscripts Clinical Performance Manager (CPM) reporting a plus.
  • Experience with ONC Meaningful Use reporting measure requirements a plus.
  • Experience with working with OLAP Cube data structures and data marts is a plus.
